So this week I had the privilege to start designing a Logo for a new business Ama Naandi. This was one of the concept Logos that we'll be developing into the final design.

The brief was to create a logo design that would work with her hand created bead range. Her bead colours are inspired from the English garden that she had as a child. She wanted to incorporate this into her logo in some way.

Hello!

This is my first blog post for Marbia Studios after it's relaunch and I am so excited to see what happens over the next year! I have BIG plans and ideas and I cant wait to get started!

So I thought I would do a quick introduction and give you a few silly/fun facts about me.

Who am I??
I'm Bianca a Graphic designer and Illustrator based in Ballarat, Australia. I work with clients to create the perfect illustrations for their products and business. I also help clients communicate their message, products and services to their clients and customers.

I'm also a stay at home mum of two little boys, a wife and artist. I try to be real and hopefully over the next few months we'll get to know each other a little bit better!

I run my own own business so that I can stay home with my boys while they are little. I want to be around to see my boys develop and grow.

Feel free to say Hello, I love meeting new people!

So here's a bit about me:

1. I had really long hair until yesterday! Yes I decided to be brave and have it all chopped off. My 4 year old was not impressed and called me naughty for cutting it off. In his defence he’s never seen me with short hair.

2. I’ve lived in 3 countries, I was born in South Africa and moved to New Zealand with my family when I was 11. At 18 my parents decided to move to Australia. My accent sounds Australian but after 2 weeks in New Zealand I come back sounding like a Kiwi.

3. My husband and I are childhood sweet hearts. We started dating when I was 15. He moved to Australia a few months after my family and I did.

4. My Husband and I have two boys Oliver and Hugo. They are fun, extremely energetic and make each day an adventure.

5. I don’t like tomatoes but I eat them because they are good for me. I love liquorice but can’t stand fennel.

6. I could spend all weekend in a good coffee shop if I had the time and the money. We have a little coffee shop in Ballarat where they roast their own beans, it’s always nice to go in there and enjoy a great cup of coffee.

7. I studied Graphic Design because I thought it would give me better employment opportunities than fine art or photography. Sometimes I wish I could study everything! I am extremely blessed as I have multiple creative skills and seem to pick creative things up very easily.

8.  I work from home and look after my children at the same time. It can be challenging at times but it definitely worth it. My husband helps me out when I need it but has a more hectic work schedule than I do at the moment.

9. Marbia is my husband Mark and my name Bianca combined. We always joked that we would use it for something one day.  I added Studios as I one day want an art studio to work out of where I can do every from paint, photograph and design from.

10. I love baking! I don’t bake much as I don’t like waste. I’m really looking forward to my children getting bigger, so when I bake I know everything will be eaten. I love trying new recipes for cakes, cookies and desserts. If it’s a recipe that can be made and stored in the freezer it will probably become one of my go to recipes.
